The British Museum is much more than a museum, it is a place in the heart of London that holds the history of humanity. A place that houses more than 7 million historical objects from the cultures of the world. But in addition to the pieces it houses, the architecture and history of the site is interesting in itself. It is enough to enter the museum and see Norman Foster's dome to understand the importance of this place. As in many of London's museums, admission to the British Museum is free, although you can make a donation to contribute to the conservation and maintenance of the site. You can access the main collection and some of the temporary exhibitions, although the major temporary exhibitions do cost money. It is open daily from 10am to 5.30pm, although the Great Atrium is open longer, from 9am to 6pm from Saturday to Thursday, and on Fridays from 9am to 8.30pm.

Everything in British museum is original and priceless. All of these art pieces are mostly only one of their kinds. Many of these statues are so spiritual that peoples around the world have worshipped them for ages. Great Britain took them for free. Britain stole their kings, queens and even gods in forms of these sacred pieces. Without colonialism Britain would never have a museum so rich in world heritages. This place is big enough to take hours. I was lost for good couple of hours in Egyptian section and others.

A fantastic museum with so many things to see inside. Last time we were there they had a special exhibition about history of money. So much to learn about it. The building is magnificent and empowers you to even be inside it. Children especially love the Egyptian section and the bit where mummies are. I can't wait to go here again soon. They have an excellent collection of ancient Chinese coins.Lovely fantastic idols. Indian architecture is greatest. The place is full of wonders, too many to explore and appreciate in one day though. Risk for children to get bored as there are so many exhibitions. The free map provides a 'quick tour of main things to see' which is handy if you have limited time / exploring with children.

The British Museum is fantastic with a vast collection of world history, art and culture. The Great Court in the middle is beautiful and modern, which brings an interesting touch to the building. There is a nice restaurant for a break during the visit. My highlights are the Rosetta stone and the Greek statues. As most of museums in London, entrance is free.
