Cairns Aquarium

Had a lovely morning at the Aquarium with my little grandaughters and mum. A perfect place for children to learn about the sea, fishes and reef. The 4month old was fascinated by the fish in the tanks her first aquatic experience. The 2 yr old loved the diver cleaning the tank, touching the star fish and exploring the underwater areas. As locals and myself a senior we got great discounts. Go explore. Your patronage is greatly needed.

Great Aquarium if your staying in Cairns. Short walk from the ferry terminal area. Highly recommend the nocturnal tour + dinner, it's a guided small group tour after the aquarium closes to the public. Make a reservation online via the website. The tour only hits the highlights as it's less than 2 hours, but I think well worth the cost.

While it may not be the biggest or fanciest aquarium I've ever been to I really vibed off the enthusiasm and the genuine love of marine life that came off all the staff. Even the gift shop girl seemed happy to be there. Great talks and so many cool fish and reptiles. Worth a visit when you're in Cairns if you want to experience the reef without contributing to coral bleaching.

The Cairns Aquarium is a fantastic place to while away a couple of hours. The displays are first class and it's the perfect indoor activity for the kids if you are looking for indoor activities. We are always mesmerised by the two floor reef tank. There's something for everyone, even Dad will enjoy a family outing to the Aquarium.

Went on the Twilight Aquarium and Dinner tour and was not disappointed. You go on an educational and fascinating tour of the aquarium after hours with a small group so you see and learn way more than if you went by yourself during the day. Our guide Alex (male Alex) was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, clearly loves what he does which is amazing to see. He was full of stories, fun facts and was great at involving the group in his presentations. After the tour you have your entree and drink served to you in the huge exhibit housing sharks, rays and other huge fish. Relaxing with a cold beverage watching magnificent animals swimming overhead is bloody amazing in itself, but then you're escorted to Dundee's restaurant for an exceptional meal. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone in Cairns. A great way to end a day in paradise!
