Sirugu is my second home,Very peaceful. I get to eat natural foods and get the local setting living style. I love the workshop activities painting, basket weaving and pottery that keeps me occupied during my stay. I love Sirigu and I will recommend it for those who want get away from their busy schedule and seek good rest, writers and groups on retreat programs.

Nice, charming guest house that is beautifully painted in the red, white and black patterns that the area is known for. There is a shop that sells a wide selection of baskets, paintings, ceramics and other crafts that are produced in the area. I stayed here for a night in March of 2019. If you are interested in doing the craft workshops, I would definitely call ahead and check to see what will be available ahead of your visit. I got to do the painting workshop, but the weavers and the batik people were out of town at the time of my visit. For the pottery workshop, you might not be able to take home what you make because they only fire up the oven once a week. Sirigu is a very serene and peaceful place to explore. The village is loosely spread out over a wide area and is very different from my more centrally organized village in the Northern Region. I spent some time walking around the village. Overall, a pleasant place to visit.

Nice traditional painting by the women. The artwork is so beautiful. Good women empowerment.

I visited SWOPA in 2015...and now I am back. The people are warm and helpful and really believe in what they do. Baskets and pots on sale are great if they are what you are after. Adjacent accommodation holistic and lovely...if only they could fix the doors ;) and reliably bookable by email which makes a big change :)
