Went today 7th September 2020 Wasn't as busy as previous lock down reviews, was no queues we were in straight away. The whole adventure through the blue reef aquarium does not last long about an hour, but what other reviews don't mention is that you can go back through as many times as you'd like, which made up for the shortness of the visit. The animals were quite fun to watch Definitely more fun for kids, kids aged 1,4 and 6 all really loved looking at each and every single one! From starfish, clownfish, seals to spider crabs it might sound a bit boring but they were fun to watch and fun for kids to see each one. The sea lion show was alright, was a bit disappointed the level of the view was a bit lower than common sea lion shows but kids can go up to the glass and see them underwater aswell as getting a cheeky splash from the seals jumping in the air back into the water every few minutes if they choose to go up that close! We're still fun to watch! To exit you do have to exit THROUGH the gift shop, so take alot of money if taking children lol! As for the gift shop I do think it's a bit overpriced for simple items, As I understand this centre rescues sea lions They should know they would make much more money if the items weren't more expensive than arcades. Reduce prices of souvenirs and you will get more sales tynemouth aquarium! Be wary of the café at the end as was £6.00 for x2 small drinks of coke in plastic cola cups, one of the kids drinks got spilt on the floor and the staff didn't offer a refill or a refund. So the cafe and shop are just an absolute joke. However despite all the high prices, The entry fee is very very cheap! I do recommend for a fun time out with the kids for sure Just buy your gifts elsewhere or hit the amusements and take a packed lunch as I they have picnic tables right out the door from the café!

Many of the info boards are too low and dark to see. The seal feeding time could've been 💯 times better if the guys were miked 🎤 up... And explaining what they were doing. Good, but not good enough for the money overall.

Brilliant day. Great for adults and kids. Make sure you go in time to see the seal talk. Good social distancing despite no booking required.

Quite small but interesting set of exhibits. Not a bad price given the size but remembering the running costs. Could be improved by making some of the viewing places more accessible to small children like a little platform so I didn't have to keep lifting my son up. Worth a visit but not sure there's enough to warrant the annual pass

The aquarium is great fun. We really loved the seal show. I think they would benefit from having tickets for specific entry times during Covid like they do at the sea life centre in Scarborough. This would have helped with the overcrowding. A fun morning for my little girl
