Los Tarrales Natural Reserve

A brilliant eco Lodge with dozens of colourful birds and other wildlife. THE best pizza I've ever tasted, just fantastic food and the accommodation was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this reserve.

Not at all easy to find or get too. But if you like guided bird watching tours this is the place!!

Great place for birding. Food is great. People are the best

We have had the good fortune to visit Los Tarrales twice, once on a birding day trip with a bigger groups and one for an overnight trip with just our family of 3. Both have been fantastic. We saw tons of great birds, including some lifers. Even if you're not a serious birder (I'm not) it's impossible not to be charmed by the plentiful parrots, aracaris, gorgeous hummingbirds, butterflies, deer and agoutis. There was an issue with the rooms we booked so we got a free upgrade to the Lodge, which is is instgam-worthy charming and comfortable. There is a (I think new?) lovely covered area where you can sit and watch tons of birds at a few feeders. Handy if it rains. Meals are simple family-style, and very good. Our picky 11-year old loved them. Guiding is excellent, we went with Alfredo this most recent trip & he was very knowledgable (Spanish speaking). On the trip with a larger group, including several kids, the guide was great about giving the kids views in the scope. A must visit for serous birders, but a great option too for anyone who enjoys nature. We will return!
