Lovely beachfront cabins. Quite. Breakfast included with stay. Other meals available. Huge dock out to a Casita. Charter boat. Beach toys. Friendly staff.

Puerta Azul makes me question why I don’t always stay at boutique hotels. The service was impeccable and Talia helped give recommendations to restaurants, scuba instructors, fishing guides and constantly helped us with our taxis. Talia and her staff make a great breakfast, which was included with our room, and even helped cook our freshly caught fish! She’s very personable and at times felt like she was on our vacation with us. Puerta Azul is a beautiful property with air conditioned ‘casitas’ that were great for couples and families. The rooms were perfectly clean and were recently constructed. They blend into the tropical environment and feel like you’re at a luxury summer camp. The hammocks were a great way to wind down before dinner and the outdoor showers were a nice way to wash off the salt water after a swim from the dock. We loved the multiple areas to lounge, such as the end of the dock to watch the sunset or the couches under the main house to wind down with a drink. The property always feels safe with 24-hour watchmen and we can’t wait to come back and recommend to other friends. Great job Talia!

Low key vibe, on the beach, amazing snorkeling just off the pier. Personalized attention from the manager, Augusta, while Harris can take you out on a kayak to the best reefs. Great breakfasts and dinners, near West End and tons of food, free parking, closer to the airport and ferry terminal. Beautiful accommodations right on the beach.

My wife and I went to Roatan and were recommended to stay at Puerta Azul, which was an amazing experience. The place has such a nice and calm vibe and energy, and Talía is the best host. She made sure we were picked up from the airport, helped coordinate activities and was just all round caring and knowledgeable about the island. We are definitely coming back to Roatan and Puerta Azul, it’s one of those hidden gems that you won’t find many places.

First of all the location was quiet and somewhat secluded. Plenty of privacy and we wanted for nothing, clean bed, clean sheets, attentive staff and great location. Talia and Augusta were able to provide great recommendations for scuba and dining and were able to arrange all of our transport to and from the airport. Breakfast was a welcome and needed bonus after a few long nights at West End and was always delicious and fresh. We truly felt like it was 8 days of paradise, the snorkeling and kayaking footsteps from our room were some of the best we’ve ever experienced. I wish that we were able to take advantage of the optional fishing and dinner at Puerto Azul but we got caught up in all that Roatán has to offer. If you are looking for an “all-inclusive” this ain’t it, but the location, facilities, people and attentiveness were beyond top notch and I hope to visit my new friends in Sandy Bay someday soon. Would give Puerto Azul more than 5 stars if I could.
