Hello. Rented car from 2 to 13 November (11 days) for 150 EUR total: 100 for car and basic insurance (with 1400EUR franchise) and 50 for cross border card - for Italy. The deposit was 500 Eur. It was D-Class (Astra with mechanical gear in order), and got 3years Ford Focus turbo automatic gearshift. Everything was perfect. My flight was canceled and during rent dates, I asked for 1 more day via WhatsApp and they sent me a new contract with +15 EUR. No additional charges, just look at the contract while signing on something. Calculate everything in euro. Just simply say, that you do not need full insurance. Hvala.

No kidding about insurance scam. STAY AWAY! We had private insurance for car and they required 1400 Euro deposit or pay for the scam insurance. When making online booking the disclosure was only for 500euro. Big difference when we arrived at the car rental location . They processed the deposit before we approved of the charge. Beware!

RUN AWAY! Or be careful, this agency add on the contract an additional insurance and does not inform you neither when you the car nor when you get it back. The surprise appears later on your bank account; for the rent of a Peugeot 208 for 9 days, I had 250€ of additional fees for a "premium insurance". They just let you sign the contract and scammed you. For me they are complice of the scam for tourists! I will never recommend you to rent a car with Avis Croatia and I still expect the refund. Furthermore the customer service nearly never answer me back.

I rarely complain about customer service, but in this case, I will make an exception. My "crime" that I was "guilty" of as the rude, unprofessional young "lady" put it, was to be late. However, this has never been an issue before with renting a car. I had "reserved" the car the night before, so it should be there, since I paid for it. Well, nope, they allegedly gave the car away to someone else, which I highly doubt. My real crime probably was not groveling enough to the sales rep for my tardiness. That's all very fine and well, but it would have taken her a minute to dial my cell or send an email asking me if I still needed the car. The Zagreb airport is nearly deserted because of COVID, so I doubt very much that someone else got the car, as the lot was full of cars. SIXT then tried to clip me for $60 by telling me all they had was a BMW. I then decided to go with Enterprise near the Westin because at least they gave me good service. So, yeah, I was late and should have called, but since it had never been an issue before, I figure they could have been professional and called me. But instead they capriciously violated their contract, and probably lied about it just to spite me. Apparently, they also have a bad reputation. The rep is a blonde who called herself Nora.

Same experience that the other clients here. I had a voucher for 220€ and they took more than 1000€ on my card, without any right to do so. More than 20 days and Avis is still not answering emails, either mines or my broker. Looking at all the comments bellow, its not an error but a real strategy, a real shame for an international company as Avis.
