Fort Imperial

Nothing special. Beautiful view

Walked the Path of Doom. Walk up the hill to the fort, steep and rocky....loved it but you need to be moderately fit and take a drink. Lovely views all the way and enjoyed a coffee at the top. If you plan to eat in the busy season then I suggest booking. Food looked nice but pricey, views and ambience are worth it.

We took the hiking trail up (~ 1 hour from Dubrovnik) which was a bit tricky to find and not very pedestrian friendly at the beginning. But then a very nice trail up to the Fort where we enjoyed the nice view over Dubrovnik (and a super expensive Coffee). We didn’t visit the Fort itself as we came mainly for the view.

Definitely a site I would recommend to see in Dubrovnik if you have the time. We did the hike up, which was very nice, it takes about 45min to an hour and I would recommend it over taking a cab or cable car if you are able. There is a war museum in the old fort which was very interesting, it turned out to be my favorite of all the museums I saw in Dubrovnik. There are also many great views of the old city along the hike up as well as at the top.
