Lovely but does need improvement. 3.5 out of 5. First of all, the employees who work here are just amazing! Fabulous customer service, welcoming, friendly, helpful and go out of their way to help. We came for our honeymoon and they prepared the room with rose petals and gave us a quiet room with a lovely view which we really appreciated. - Lovely atmosphere inside the hotel and a great pool and plenty of loungers to relax on. Lovely outside seating and they did v well trying to maintain distance and hygiene during Covid pandemic. Outside seats for dining were often sticky and would be nicer to sit on if there were cushions. - Dinner was delicious and also lunch options were very tasty but the food at the buffet could be improved on at times: e.g I took some cheese and then found mould on it and the bread presliced for toast was mouldy and also noticed by other guests. Breakfast could be improved also - pastries were not great and limited, French toast very bland and not made with cinnamon or served with berries, bacon or syrup. First two days eggs were very overcooked despite asking for runny yolks. Little complaints but for a 4 star hotel I expect a little better. - Major improvement needed on decor in bedrooms - very old fashioned and feels more like 3 star and countryside decor. Bathroom tap twisty stub thing was a NIGHTMARE. Both of us constantly struggled trying to change the boiling hot to cold - just install normal taps please! :) The plug cover for the bath wouldn’t stay on when bath was filled with water so it kept floating off. The phone in our room didn’t work and despite letting reception know nothing was done and for 5 days anytime we needed anything or had a question we had to walk to the reception. Toilet in our room flushed constantly (for about 5 minutes before we realised there was a problem) once flushed once and you had to keep pressing the button to make it stop. Air con very good and efficient but no programme settings and you can either turn it on or off (and change temp) - annoying that you can’t set it to turn off after a couple of hours at night. - Pillows need to be renewed - lumpy and we had to ask for more. Headboard of the bed is wooden and all bent out of shape so one lumpy pillow didn’t help at all. No complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, just installed shower gel/shampoo. There was a vanity set though. Excellent cleaning and housekeeping every day. Rather small towels - would be nicer to have a towel of a decent size after washing. Bathroom design is stylish but not very functional, now where to put your products really and when you do put them out then they’re moved by housekeeping on top the window ledge and then you can’t put the window blind down. Soap dispenser not near the sink so water drips everywhere and mirrors oddly placed. - Nespresso machine in room but no kettle and no teabags or decently sized teacups - not great if you don’t like espresso. - Overall we did have a lovely time but for a 4 star hotel some improvements need to be made. I twisted my ankle on the stairs (my own carelessness) and they were very kind in regularly giving me ice to put on it and being as helpful as possible so I really appreciated that. I saw other reviews about mosquito complaints and that’s ridiculous- that’s nature and you can’t control that, it’s ridiculous and completely unfair to blame the hotel for mosquitos. Don’t leave your windows open and buy some mosquito repellent! Also, on the website it states ‘Swimming bay with sandy beach, awarded "Blue Flag" status’ - no! There is no sandy beach and there is no private beach - directly behind the hotel is a shared beach bay with a pebble beach. Also on the website ‘"That's life" – a daily highlight, offered 7 days a week’ - no idea what this is supposed to be - it was never mentioned to us. All in all, thank you for a lovely stay and for making our honeymoon special!

Absolutely beautiful hotel and gardens. Our comfort double room was unreal. I definitely would come here again and recommend it.

Excellent staff. Food repetitive but ok. Do not accept room 15 as it overlooks a grim looking block and an open drain.
