The spring of Kupica river is a rather small turquoise lake which emerges from a deep fault, actually like almost every river in Gorski kotar. Kupica immediately runs as a strong river and flows into Kupa river after only 3 kilometers. The spring is fenced for the purposes of hydrological measurements but the trail bypasses the fence. The nature is really preserved there. The place is also Checkpoint No. 9 of "Goranski planinarski put". There is also an artificial, concrete-made river bed nearby that collects huge amounts of water from the mountain when snow starts to melt and connects with Kupica downstream.

It is worth the walk, in the heat a pleasant shade and a path through the woods. Only a parking space is sought, little marked. That's probably why no one else was there.

Very beautiful and also with "toddlers" walking accessible source [little sister of the Kupa ;-)] with fascinating reflections of the green and blue tones of the surrounding trees and the typical blue Croatian summer sky.
