Arheološki park Andautonija

Small, but historically important archaeological park. Located in a cute village near Zagreb, ideal for short afternoon trips.

If you like roman history and archeology in general, this is a nice place to visit. Old ruins of a roman town. Its history is really interesting and you walk through it. I think there were some floods that destroyed the ancient time. There's also some more 'stones' in the backyard of the local church a few minutes away so check that out too.

Interesting to see how Zagreb actually originated and how Romans lived in this area. Has a small souvenir shop as well. A bit hard to reach without a car, but taxi shouldn't cost more than a drive to the airport.

Rundown and looks abandoned at first glance. Visited on a Tuesday, but it was stille possible to enter the park and take a walk around the buildings. Many of the information boards are only in Slovene, but those that are in English are interesting to read
