Kapucinski samostan i crkva sv. Josipa

Mass at 10 am. The only open church in city (at least during holiday :p)

The church can be visited without any problem. It is a small place, very nice and welcoming. Beautiful paintings.

In the year 1710 the Capuchin friars began the construction of the monastery and church dedicated to Saint Joseph in Karlobag. The works were completed in 1713. The style of the monastery is classic with the central cloister, as in other Croatian cities: Varaždin and Osijek. Despite its simplicity, the convent expresses an elegant and light architecture. The well located in the central position of the cloister is very beautiful. Numerous treasures are kept inside the Convent: paintings, ancient texts, sacred art objects, most of which come from the Church of San Carlo Borromeo, unfortunately destroyed. Worth noting is a valuable Last Supper by an unknown author dating back to around 1700. Adjacent to the convent is the only Catholic Church of Karlobag dedicated to St. Joseph. Holy Mass Hours: Sunday 10:00 am. Recommended visit.
