With the founding of the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka in 1955, he began his own teaching in the courses Gynecology and Obstetrics. The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics was founded in 1960. Assoc.Prof. Davor Perovic. Prof. dr. Ph.D. In 1975, Danilo Pavešić became the second head of the Chair. With the construction of a new facility and the integration of separate gynecological and delivery organizational units into a single Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics in 1985, the Department continues to operate in better and better spatial conditions. In 1996, she was elected the new Head of the Department. dr. Ph.D. Ljiljana Randic, who held the post until 2006 when she retired. In the same year, Prof.Dr.sc. Herman Haller, who still holds that position.
