The Chair of Rehabilitation Medicine was founded in 2007 and is currently the youngest Chair operating at the Faculty of Medicine - University of Rijeka. In the years since its establishment, the department has successfully dedicated itself to integrating key public health topics into university teaching. Following the strategy of educating educators as a basis for the contemporary fight against non-communicable chronic diseases, through the teaching of our department, students gain the knowledge necessary to further stimulate an active approach in this group of diseases, which continues to be the leading cause of mortality in the Republic of Croatia.
