Amazing scenery, nature is untouched and calm. Food at the restaurant is cheap, but very very good. Good selection of beers ;-)

A real jewel which would be the shame not to visit.... beautiful scenery and a nice walk...near highway exit and only an hour from Zagreb

🇺🇸 First of, the road to get there is TERRIBLE. I've had situations where google maps directed me to a road which is so poorly maintained that it's impossible to pass through it with a car, so I figured it's one of these situations. You drive through narrow but maintained road through a village and at one point get to a 3km to your destination. Road on this last 3 km is REALLY TERRIBLE. Gigantic potholes, rocks and branches on the road and worst of all it so narrow that ONE car can barely drive on it and it's a TWO WAY road! With only a few wider parts so that if need arises two cars can pass each other. So you spend those 3km driving very slowly because of the bad condition of the road and PRAYING TO GOD that someone doesn't come from the opposite direction. So some people try the road and others park at the beginning of it and walk 3 km to the end. If you do survive the road you are greeted with a big, well maintained parking lot. You need to buy the ticket to see Zeleni vir and Vražji prolaz and it costs 25kn. But in the end it's all worth it! Zeleni vir is a BEAUTIFUL waterfall surround with a BIG cavern. It's really something. And Vražji prolaz is a cleft in the mountain through which water runs and which is connected with a series of walk ways. At the end of this walk is a BEAUTIFUL CAVERN, not very deep, some 200m which you can explore all by yourself. Super interesting and adventurous! Just watch your head, don't forget to bring a flashlight (or use your cellphone flash) and bring some waterproof boots because it's wet and very muddy inside! All in all, HIGHLY recommended!! . Super izgleda. Super zanimljivo i avanturističko!

The hiking trail (entrance fee 25kn/adult)through a narrow gorge leads after 25 minutes to a cave. The gorge is magnificent but the walkways are slippery. Railings and walkways are in need of maintenance but the path is safe. After you reach the cave you can continue ascending (steeply)finally reaching the railway station in Skrad. The path is generally visible but not very well marked. The issue is that just after the cave, the protective railing has been destroyed (June 2019) and there is a small part that is relatively unsafe. Reaching the railway station, you can return to Zeleni Vir following a path that will lead you first to the Zeleni Vir waterfall after roughly 35 minutes. From there it's an easy descent to the Zeleni Vir hydroelectric plant and the parking lot.
