Great experience, cheap fare and the skipper was extremely friendly
The initially friendly staff and the comparatively low price prompted us to rent a boat here (6 people /
60PS boat / costs: 1200 HRK + Spirt).
Unfortunately, our experience with Bumbar Rent was rather negative:
1. Unclear fuel costs: We were assured that we would have to pay a maximum of 350 HRK for the fuel, even if we drove quickly, as this is the maximum possible tank content. That was of course not the case, after our trip we were asked at the gas station by an unfriendly employee from Bumbar Rent to pay just under 550 HRK.
2. Inadequate safety equipment: As there was a strong wind on our way back from VIS to Hvar and the resulting waves, which were way too big for our nutshell (boat), our nutshell (boat) and we were completely soaked, we became aware of the inadequate safety equipment . This means there were neither a compass, a radio nor a flare gun and, most seriously, not enough life jackets on board to draw attention to yourself in an emergency or to be able to put on life jackets. As a result, we felt very unsafe in a situation in which our nutshell (boat) could possibly have capsized.
So in conclusion we would recommend everyone to rent another boat rental for an additional cost of HRK 200-300!
