Hertz Rent a car

To be avoided. They gave me an old car, full of impacts, one tyre was low on pressure, no rims on the wheels and did not have the 2 child seats i had booked. Maybe the airport location is more professional, but otherwise you are better off going to another car renting company.

No better place to find a reliable car in this beautiful city. Thanks to Ivona and the Hertz team near the Old City in Dubrovnik, I was able to rent a car with total peace of mind. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

NOT EVEN a 1 star. Terrible!! Horrible experience at the Split Airport Hertz location. Never use again. Please change your booking before it is too late. My wife and I arrived at the Split airport on July 2, 2019, and we pre-paid our car rental several months in advance through our travel agency. When we arrived at the Hertz counter the worker was really rude and disrespectful to us and said we need to pay for our vehicle and he didn't even have a car for us. He then said his driver is coming from Dubrovnik and we had to wait for 4 hours for a car. He was really rude to us, and even started to laugh at us. He was so unprofessional. We were very upset, we called our travel agent from the United States and they said everything was paid for and they even talked with him over the phone in Croatian to try to resolve this problem. Then the Hertz worker staryed to change his stories and said to come back the next day, he had NO cars for us. He was a complete jerk! He also said the manager was not available and no one was their to help us. We went back and forth for over an hour. We then went to another car agency, who was very helpful and got us a car. We were in Croatia for 12 days and needed a car. I highly recommend booking with Oryx Car rental in Croatia. Super nice, great car and excellent service. As far as Hertz, I will never rent a vehicle from them again.

On May 2nd at 8am we arrived at the Hertz office in downtown Dubrovnik. There was no employee present at the time. At 8:15 I and other customers that were waiting for the office to open decided to call the contact number but no one answered. We then called the Hertz office at the airport to get information. The airport office contacted the employee on his personal number. He eventually showed up at 08:40. He was unable to find the car i had booked online and decided without asking me to give me a manual car for 360EUR plus deposit, when i had originally requested an automatic car that cost 102.60 on my online booking. When I declined the particular car he asked me to wait for another employee to arrive that might be more able to find my booking. When she arrived at 9:20am she reiterated that the manual car was the only available car and when i asked her if there were any other options her response was “Can you or can you not drive. This is it.” We left at 10am without a car.

Everything was great!!! When I come in the office, there was lady Ivona and she was so nice to me. Explain everything about car, give me the child seat and take care so I don't need to worry. Best services and lovely lady, everytime when I come to Dubrovnik I will use the Hertz Rent a Car in the Old town :) Best regards
