Bear Refuge

at first i was a little bit unsatisfied with the idea to go there because i do not like to se animals restrained, but this is as good as possible because those bears are orphans and they would not survive in the wild. keep up the good work

Very welcoming place, the exhibits are spacious and the bears look healthy. Overall a very nice place, I would definitely recommend that you stop by if you're in the area. The gift shop offers cool little hand carved bear idols, other memorabilia and some strong liquor from the area.

Absolutely amazing place! The bears were playing. The dog was guiding us and made us throw a stick. The view was so beautiful! We took some pictures, bought some honey and left happy :-) Go there and just enjoy!

That moment when you walk down to one of the fenced areas and see that big brown thing looking at you and casually walking towards you - priceless. The refuge is quite big. It’s always a bit sad to see caged animal, but it looks like they are trying to make it as similar to their natural habitat as possible. Bruno is the best 💗 I definitely recommend a visit and please leave a donation. When we were there, it seemed like people are leaving only pennies. Shame.

Cool place, I guess the bears live in conditions as close to natural as possible. The volunteer staff is very forthcoming. Velebit mountains are great, too.
