In the peaceful plain of Slavonian Posavina, near the Sava River, is the village of Vrbje, in the center of which is the parish church dedicated to St. John. Joseph. In the same frame is a parish apartment, or rather a palace in which dimensions could accommodate a decent hotel or some kind of social welfare institution. But it was built in what used to be rich in Slavonia. The buildings are painted with bright ocher, which highlights them well in an otherwise predominantly green landscape. The parish belongs to the Diocese of Požega and covers the villages of Bodovaljci, Vrbje and Sičice.
