Castle - Lovrečina, Vrbovec Along the Vrbovec–Križevci road, to the northeast of Vrbovec, the castle known under the name of Lovrečina Grad is situated. The first owners of the citadel and the estate was the Orehoci family, from 1599 to 1726, followed by families Fodroci, Patačić (1800-34), Farkaš (1834-70), later the estate was bought by count Piennes in 1909 and donated to the Sisters of Mercy. By the middle of the 19th ct. the castle got the U-ground plan which has been preserved until today. A large historicist renovation happened in 1898 with rich Neo-Renaissance decorations, towers were built as additions, as well as the central decoration and a sun lounge on the southern façade, horse-stable and other manorial buildings around the castle

You cannot look at this castle up close, nor walk around it. They don’t give it to you because it’s a commune to treat addicts. It can't even be photographed from the road because there are buildings and trees around it, so you can't see the whole thing. How can our state not appreciate anything? So as people who have ruined their lives and the lives of everyone around them, are rewarded with life in a beautiful castle, and we who are grateful for our lives, fight and try to make ourselves and everyone around us happy, we have no right to approach, let alone enjoy in such beauty? So couldn't another building be found for the addicts and the castle turned into a museum? Really a shame! I can’t describe how sad and disappointed I am.
