Not sure why such a low score here. My experience was very positive. Efficient check-in, got free upgrade to SUV, and the price was unbeatable at ~10 EUR per day. Would definitely book again if visiting Split.

Absolutly terrible. Rented a car for 10 days. First car in Dubrovnik : 5 years old wheels and with the rain and ESP, couldn't brake and almost had an accident. Hertz in Split gave us a new car : 3 days later, the engine light lighted up, and the car was working in degraded mode. Only solution we had after walling Hertz was to go back to Dubrovnik with this dangerous car (8 hour drive).... Best part : only 20 % reduction on the price with such a bad experience.... next time : go to a local rental agency, it can't be worse !

Despite the big amount of 1 stars we decided to pick up a car in Hertz and everything went awesome. We were renting from Rentalcars. Manager was speaking English, every contract point was exact as in order (fuel policy, mileage limitation etc.). When we registered, car was waiting us in airport parking spot. We came to it, checked and marked all car scratches (overall, car was looking pretty good) and started our trip straight forward When we returned a car, we checked if there were new scratches and fuel level. Everything was fine and we received a 15% discount afterwards. Deposit for a car was returned in 2 days after a drop-off. I am pretty happy using Hertz and I am not quite sure why there are so much negative reviews (most likely, when everything is good, no one wants to review, that's why it is unbalanced). I will be happy to use it again!

Would not recommend anyone using definitely not the one in the Split airport. Staff are extremely rude, are forcing you into taking insurance and are threatening you with incredible fines and penalties if you do not take the service they are offering.
