Villa Vis Croatia

The stay at Villa Vis was very good all round. Our host Tatjana is very friendly and welcoming which immediately puts any visitor at ease. At Villa Vis you have a sense of feeling akin to stay at someone's house. Like your favourite Aunt's or a friend you really like. Cleanliness is exceptional and the proximity to local facilities could not be better.Heard lots of mentions about the spiral staircase but for me this is of little note. Some improvisation and gusto is all which is needed. I would highly recommend Villa Vis for your stay on this wonderful island.

We originally booked into Villa Vis for three nights but while chatting with our hosts Tatjana and her partner over the first of many amazing breakfasts it was clear that we would need longer on this little island. Luckily as we were mid-week we were ok to stay on for another couple of nights and i'm glad we did. There is a super chilled out vibe in the villa, it has a kind of yoga retreat feel and we soon found out that it is exactly that for a few weeks of the season. Our room was immaculate and had a huge bed as well as a decent shower and a sort of lounging area (We had the Green Room). It also had it's own access to the street so we didn't need to go down through the communal area when coming and going. The breakfasts were amazing, i wont tell you what they were as the surprise is better! For a couple of days when we had early starts for things like going SUP boarding or visiting a beach before it got busy Tatjana would convert our breakfast to a sort of packed brunch which was perfect. They helped us with recommendations on places to eat out, things to do and what time of day was best to do them. The location is perfect, on the east side of the bay which is on the opposite side to the ferry terminal so less hustle and bustle but still loads of bars and restaurants within literally 20 to 30 meters. The Lambik Lounge is closest and became the perfect meeting spot and place to chill out with a book and a beer. Quite honestly a pretty perfect week and one of the few places i've ever considered going back to. Highly recommended.
