Woeful. The girl manning the store was nearly useless, lacked tact and -- most depressing for a mac store -- had no idea what she was doing. I wasn't wearing any makeup at the time, but I am by no means a stranger to it. However, given how rarely I tan and how dark I had become after 2 weeks in the Croatian sun I needed some help to color match my new tone. Understanding that mac stores have a bias towards up selling to customers who look like they are going to be making a large purchase, I by no means looked like someone on a budget: well dressed, recognizable designer bag, carry well, etc. I walked in prepared to buy a new foundation, concealer, new eye shadows, lip color, and a few other items to match the tan. Unfortunately, my experience led me to walk out with nothing but bare minimum -- a foundation. Leaving aside the rudeness and disregard by the clerk, the most shocking part was her lack of knowledge about the store products, skin type and tone, and how to apply makeup! She brought me a bunch of products that were all the wrong tone and was trying to convince me they matched well until I demanded to have a different version. This is after applying the product to my face using the wrong brush that was neither properly cleaned nor dried. When she left to go chat to whom I assume was a friend, I was left alone to my own devices and cleaned my own applicator and used that (yes I carry a mini go kit) to try a few of the other products. I then decided not to waste time, grabbed what I needed and left to pay. When she saw that I pulled out an elite card, her demeanor suddenly changed and she started to upsell me on useless add-ons. No thanks.

Just a dream come true for any make-up fanatic.... Lots of great-quality products at slightly high prices, so it's definitely not a budget store. Saying that, the staff are friendly and the store offer a free lipstick per 6 empty product and if you sign up for their newsletter, you find out about the free make up services they do.
