Museum of Apoxyomenos

Amazing what one can do around one statue, the museum is without a doubt the jewel of Mali (we found the other museum closed). Museography is impeccable, great visit for children. Our only complaint is the rudeness of the male receptionist, the place was empty, we where probably the only ones at that moment and we were not welcomed, a rude reception.

Very interesting exposition. Historical background and the process of the bronze statue restoration is greatly presented. The statue self is unforgettable. We also loved the olive wood lining of the corridor. The museum is air-conditioned 😉.

Well done, modern and interactive exhibition. One statue maybe it's not enough to build an entire museum around it ... Time allowed in the statue room is very limited. Very nice city and port overview. It can get crowded when tourists boats arrive.

I did not expect it but we spent more than an hour in a muzeum which in the end features a single sculpture. Admittance for adult is 75kn, 40 for a student. The museum is beautifully crafted into the whole building and gradually unravels more about the statue. In the end there is view of Mali Lošinj from second floor of the building. It is not cheap but I'm my opinion it is worth it.

Modern Museum with great and stylish storytelling (after several informative rooms, you'll finally meet Apoxyomenos in a white room/no photos allowed in there). Visited the site on a rainy day bit I'll recommend it to every visitor of Mali Lošinj. Audioguides and family tickets available. More information on the website.
