I recently hired a car from here and was very impressed with the service received, the quality of the car. and the easy booking procedure. The hire represented good value for money and the company manager, Pedro, was extremely helpful. I wholly recommend them!

EDIT: A response to Ante's reply. In the section you quoted from the policy, where does it say that parking on an unsealed road is "prohibited use"? To all readers, I guarantee you that there are no clauses mentioning that having an incident off of a marked road disqualifies you from making an insurance claim. Avax have scammed me, causing me to lose 150 euros in a situation that should have been handled by getting someone to call a tow truck and having the costs claimed under the Premium Insurance I had purchased. Also, I caused ZERO damage to the vehicle. The rep caused all of the damage herself. Why should I be forced to pay for that? The rep made a point to warn us not to sit in the car in wet swimwear. Why was it that she didn't warn us that parking next to a beach effectively voids us from making an insurance claim? I encourage people to read my review below before deciding whether to use this car rental company. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I had a terrible experience with Avax in Korcula. They are a complete joke. Their conduct is unprofessional and I would advise to avoid them at all costs. I rented a Toyota Aygo and bought the premium insurance package. While attempting to park the car at Nova beach (a destination recommended by the Avax rep), I unfortunately got the car stuck on a small ledge and could not reverse out. I contacted our Avax rep, expecting that they would call someone with a tow truck who could pull us out. Instead, the rep decided to drive out to Nova, with their father, in order to help us out. In the process, the Avax rep damaged the side bumpers of the car, and her father unfortunately injured himself. Despite purchasing the premium insurance (which costs 80 euros and claims that no excess needs to be paid on a claim), the Avax rep was adamant that I had to pay for the repair of the bumper (150 euros) because the incident occurred on an "unmarked road". The insurance documentation DID NOT state that an incident needs to occur on a marked road. This was 100% not true. After contesting this with the Avax rep, she stated that if I did not pay, then they would have to self-fund the repair themselves. She hinted that the manager of the franchise (situated in Split) could put her job at risk if she did not come up with the money to pay for the repair. What's the point in paying a premium for insurance if your roadside assistance consists of the Avax rep and her father? Why didn't they call someone with a tow-truck who would be better equipped to help us? Why were they stating that our incident was not covered by insurance when it clearly was? Why was I asked to pay for the repair for damage that was caused by Avax, and not me? In the end, I paid the extortionate repair fee they were asking for. At the time, I appreciated their generosity for driving out to help us out, and I felt guilty for taking time out of their day, and for the rep's father injuring himself. In hindsight, I should have refused to pay the repair fee. Why should anyone have to accept such poor levels of professionalism that's masquerading as "generosity"? Insurance policies are meant to provide you with peace of mind in case things go wrong. In this case, it only caused me more stress and the entire day's hire costed over 200 euros. I will attempt to dispute the repair charge via my credit card company. If you're planning to visit Korcula and would like to hire a car, take a look at more local options and avoid this Avax franchise at all costs.

Overall, It has been a very good experience renting a car from Avax! Everything along the renting process worked well from the very begging. Especial mention to Pedro, the manager. All communication with him was clear and fast. Besides he gave us very helpful advice. Great guy! Would def rent again. Many thanks!

Really well done, great customer service from Pedro. Plenty of communication in advance, great service upon arrival and then excellent help from Pedro when returning the car to a different city late at night. Was initially a little worried as this did not appear to be the typical ‘Hertz/Sixt’ type of setup, but all worked out great. Well done, would rent again without hesitation.
