This is a wonderful place with classic scenic beauty. Through my lens this is the best city in Balcan countries we have visited. This is a small city with nice sea beaches, hilly landscape and many small small islands in the sea. People can spend leisure time around the beach with the loved ones. One can easily take a round in the small corridor made for walking only around the beaches. Old Dubrovnik is also nice. You have to take a walking tour only to see the beauty of lanes and by-lanes of old Dubrovnik, where a good number of people live mainly on tourism. People have to climb a good number of stairs (400 stairs) to walk on the boundary wall of that old city. People can take a boat tour to experience those islands and have a fun time too.
Despite to the mass tourist invasion its still a great city. Make your visit early in the morning before all cruise ships unload their passengers. The whole city is surrouded by massive walls, take a walk around. The city is one open air museum with too many highlights to mention. In the evening its still very lifely on the streets with all the restaurants and cafes.
Dubrovnik was a wonderful place. The nature of the place was truly understanding and you could really feel that the war was still affecting the country. The people there were very nice and the food was great. Would definitely recommend going!
Dubrovnik is a beautiful city, espacially the old town. I didn't get to see that much of the place since me and my friend only had some few hours there.
But I feel we got to see some of the old town. Unfortunately we didn't go up to get a full view of the place since it costs a bit, and being the end of my travel journey I had to think economical. But I did get a chance to take a picture of the old town when we took the taxi to get out of the city.
The city is a bit pricey, espacially in the old town. Since we had our luggage with us we kept it at a travel agency 30 metres from the fort port. Which was very convenient to take a look around the fort and pick it up after a few hours.
I wish I brought bathing clothes with me. There are some bathing areas around the old town and it looked so tempting jumping in the water.
Hopefully next time I get to see more of the outside the fort :) Dubrovnik is worth a visit.
Great place to go on vacation with interesting food, historical places and lots of small island to visit, specially for who enjoys water sports.
