Klek Border Crossing

Smooth crossing, specially if you arrive in a tourist-bus! You are adviced though to have passports ready because it's a EU outer border. 🇭🇷 🇧🇦

In the winter, the two border Bosnia/Croatia crossings took us no more than 10 minutes each. But it can get more congested at other times of year. Most car rentals in Croatia will allow for this small border crossing without additional fees, but it’s good to check just in case. Just wait in the regular vehicle line, hand your passports in to be scanned at the guard shack(s). 01 October 2017, 09:00 AM: Everything was fine. No check at all (EU id cards / no passports). Fast passing.

The border guards work at a pace akin to a snail. They just can't be bothered and don't care how long it takes to get across.

So slow. If you car looks anything else than ordinary, prepare to have your bags opened and spread out on the pavement. Personel contains of persons that really want to work as something else...
