This place offers to take you back to XIV century to show how the salt was extracted from the salt water, collected and loaded on little railroad carts. Also, it gives you an idea what the walls were for. Lots of history there. There is also a video presentation before you take on the tour. When visiting Slano or Dubrovnik, this is a good place to go, visit and eat some of their best dishes. Highly recommended!!!!!

An interesting and educational part of the past that successfully connects the new age. The tradition of salt production from the 14th century to the present day in a natural way. Salt can be bought at the entrance. Entrance to the salt works is 15kn. It runs until 5:00 pm. Touring independently, without guides.

Located in a beautiful quaint small town near Dubrovnik. The salt farm has a very interesting history for the area and gives you something to do besides sightseeing the quaint village. A very long wall used as fortification for the town's salt stores back in medieval times is visible from the salt farm which is another unique attraction in the area. A short ride down the road brings you to another small town where oysters and mussels are farmed.

Pretty basic museum focused on the salt production. They had a good video that explained the process, and the guide was very knowledgeable. Amazing to see how they have been making salt here for about 1500 years.

I loved to walk around again. 💕 I hope we can see real life salt harvest some time in the future.
