Crkva Gospe od Zdravlja

Church of our Lady of Good Health is a votive church structure erected in 1886 following outbreaks of the plaque which struck the island of Korčula in the 19th century.

Built in 1886 after a plague outbreak which is the end of the 19th century affected Korcula as well and Vela Luka. It is a single-nave rectangular church with a rectangular sized sacristy at the rear. It was built beautifully carved, in the appropriate rows of stone carved stone, oriented east-west. The high façade ends with a triangular tympanum and a triangular bell, separated by three openings which are pyramidal raised. The front door is decorated with superficially profiled stairs, above the rear seat is a triangular, centered open gable. Within him, the simple embroidered relief of the Virgin was rendered naive: the rectangular walls of the church and the apse have tall, narrow windows ending in a lapel arch. In the middle of the north wall is the entrance. Inside, the church is plastered and covered with a high barrel vault. The simple classical main altar is made of stone and marble with columns bearing a triangular tympanum. On the north wall is the neo-Gothic altar of St. Francis, on the southern slope neo-baroque stone altar with the image of Our Lady of the Rosary by the Dominican painter Vinko Draganja, in a nearby bronze niche bust of Don Ivana Oreb, by Anka Prižmić . Along the western wall above the entrance is a simple wooden barrel.
