Most Pula

We were staying there as a group of three, and the owner decided to kick my friend out after finding out she had stayed at a hostel where she was bitten by a bedbug A MONTH before, even though she had thoroughly washed her clothes and had had no signs or symptoms of bedbug bites for the whole month. The owner tried to play the victim, instead of working towards a sensible solution, arguing that she was a 70-year old woman with a small hostel, that her daughter would cry if she had bedbugs again in the hostel, anything to make us feel guilty about wanting for our friend not to be kicked out. When we decided that it was no use trying to convince her otherwise, we had to find a new place to stay for our two last nights in Pula, on short notice, in peak season, and she gave my friend a 2-hour deadline. She also was arguing that she was only kicking out my friend and that she wouldn't reimburse us if we left as well, even though the three of us had stayed together for the last few nights, and that by her logic, we should all have bedbugs (which was of course not the case), so it took a lot of arguing for her to understand that she was being discriminatory. Also, the AC didn't work in the bedrooms, and there was a man sleeping for free in the common room so there was no way to relax and hangout there at night. We ended up finding a place at Hostel Antique which ended up being such a better experience so at least there's that.

Loved the place and host is super sweet ..she made us feel super comfortable...

WORST experience in a hostel. First bad review as well unfortunatly...The owner decided to kick out my friend really rudely after she heard that she has been bitten one time by a bedbug a month before. She didn't have ANY symptoms for the whole month afterwards and cleaned all her clothes. She was trying to victimise herself by playing the card " we are a small hostel ", " my daughter would cry if we would have bedbugs again ", " I'm a 70 years old woman " etc. But it was absolutely not the point. She gave her 20€ to try to find a new place to sleep with a 2hours notice on the peak season, felt like garbage. Even worse, when we found a place and wanted to leave, she didn't want to reimburse us as well and leave with our friend. We tried to explain to her that our friend came all the way from another country to have few days with us and she didn't care. So we had to face her with the fact that we had been staying together for a few nights and by her logic, if my friend " had bedbugs " then so did we. After a lot of exhausting talk, we managed to leave as well. Other considerations : It's really really small and somebody's sleeping in the living room so you can't have a place to chill if you need to go out of your room during the night. Plus the climatisation was broken in the rooms. Also, she wanted us to do our friend's check-in because she was working the whole day and wanted to go to the beach with her husband. Soooo, we finally stayed at Hostel Antique and it was SO much better!

Lovely owner-lady, felt like at home. Would stay again for sure.
