Avant Car - Car Rental Zagreb downtown

Wow. Where do I even begin?! I hardly ever write reviews, but I must tell how little this company cares about customer service. I rented a car with a pick up from the Split location and drop off in Zagreb. During pickup in Split, the woman tells me I can waive insurance, but the deposit will be $1000 and it'll take 30 days for me to get that deposit back after returning the car. She then tells me if I buy insurance, the deposit is only $200 and it'll be returned to me after 7 days. So I bought the insurance. While driving the car, I noticed the car was given to me without any water in the tank to clean the windshields and that the dashboard light did not turn on when the car lights were on for night driving. This means I had no way of telling how fast I was going, how much fuel I had left, etc. Upon return in Zagreb, I tell the attendant these issues and she says there's nothing she can do and to email them. I email them and Suncana, a rep from there tells me that the car has a small water tank and that I used it up and that they can't even send me a partial refund because they "fulfilled their obligations". No. You gave me a car without any water and the dashboard lights did not work (I even sent them a video of this). The car was flat out not safe to drive, let alone be rented to someone. On top of that, it's been 15 days and I still have no received my $200 deposit to which Suncana says it can take 30 days. In other words, they sold me insurance and I lied to me about how long the deposit will take just to make more money. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Returned the car and everything was fine- no damage and a full tank. It’s been over a month and my security deposit hasn’t been released from my credit card. I have had to pay this debt instead of incurring a 20% interest rate. When will I get my money back?!

The car was fine and staff relatively friendly with one issue The employee refused to hand over the keys and registration without explaining for over 10 minutes their own extra insurance, after I've explained repeadetly that I have private insurance and am not interested. Too bad since the rest of the rental went smoothly.
