Merely a ghost of it's past glory. Very dirty and old school. It's sad to see it like this
The building is in a sorry state of decay. There are no easy ways to check departures and arrivals, only a paper poster in croatian. Nobreal toilets, no options for travelers and no travelern information counter. Only a big almost empty old building with a cash register.
Ok but rather ugly.
The Zagreb West Station dates from the second half of the nineteenth century when it was the first and only main station in the then Zagreb, built on the outskirts of the city when the first railway line Zidani Most - Zagreb - Sisak was launched and the name South Station was named. This primacy was maintained until the construction of today's Main Station near the nineteenth century, which was then named the State Station. The Renewed Western Station is still in use in its unchanged appearance while retaining the spirit of some of the romantic past times.
I always travel to the west station when I go to the Sisters of Mercy Hospital (Vinogradska). Then I walk from the station park to the hospital. It relaxes me and is a nice experience. Now the works are around the station and the environment will be even more beautiful.
