The geodetic measuring tower is a structure for surveying purposes, which was started to be built in Hungary in the 1970s, mainly above the first points of the horizontal base point network at that time. On the one hand, they served as point protection, resp. they were essential in the implementation of long-sided polygoning (because they can be directed from afar). Nowadays, they are only sometimes used by surveyors, even at most as an orientation. Most of them are locked up, going up on them is forbidden and life threatening. They are owned by the Hungarian state
