Its foundation stone was laid on October 2, 1927, which was blessed by Archbishop Gyula Zichy. His designs were made by architect Gábor Fábián in neo-Romanesque style. It was consecrated on Monday, June 9, 1930. Its towers are 42 meters high. The church has a basilica layout, the main nave is wider and taller than the aisle. His organ, which was a four-manual, 46-version, with 3510 whistles, was made by the Angster company in Pécs in 1937.
