Its foundation stone was laid by Bishop Zsigmond Berényi in 1741. It was consecrated by Bishop György Klimó in 1756. It has been referred to as the "Lyceum Church" since 1835, because Bishop Ignác Szepessy bought and renovated the church for the faculty of law and philosophy, the so-called Lyceum. The frescoes of the sanctuary and the nave were made in 1872 by the academic painter Ferenc Mücke on behalf of Bishop Zsigmond Kovács. In 1906, the Angster factory in Pécs made a new version with 24 registers to replace the organ built in 1760.

In the beautiful church, how beautiful the mass was, we couldn't look at it from the inside.
