Lovászi Sarlós Boldogasszony templom

The Baroque church was built between 1768-1774. There was a temple to Lovasz before him, but it was so torn by a fire and an earthquake that they could not be repaired anymore and had to be demolished. The cost of the construction was borne by Miklós Esterházy, and the villagers also participated in the works. Originally built as shingle, the first major renovation was made in 1861, when it received a new tower jacket. The frescoes of the sanctuary were painted by Johann Ignaz Cimbal of Austria. The motifs of the pictures show the legend of St. Nicholas. Gábor Keresztury, a landowner of Lovászi, who died in 1815, is in the crypt under the church.
