I was only here as a tourist, so I can only appreciate this church from this point of view, but it is a very beautiful building richly decorated in baroque, both in terms of paintings and sculptures and column decorations. If you are visiting Sümeg, it is definitely worth a visit.

Bishop Széchenyi settled the Franciscan order in Sümeg in 1649 and built a church and monastery for them at the highest point of the city center. From the outside, the Puritan complex of buildings during the Turkish occupation adapted to its defense tasks. The interior features sophisticated Baroque furnishings. The pulpit, decorated with the archangel of St. Michael and the four evangelists, was carved by Bishop Martin Bíró. The main altar is the work of the Carmelite sculptor Ferenc Richter. Furnished with columns, sculptures and carvings, the canopy altarpiece features a medieval Pieta statue surrounded by statues of holy kings. After the first miraculous healing in 1696, the church became a national shrine and place of pilgrimage.

This is a miracle of this church.

Even my grandmother came here to pray. A lot of people come here to put their burden. A place of rich spirituality. It means a lot to me.
