Pósaház

The loft-style mansard-roofed house on Old Town Square is the former residence of the Cistercians of Zirc. The crests on the ornamentation indicate the owner. The white guard crane is a symbol of vigilance, the Zirc; the other is the coat of arms of the Cistercian Abbey of Heinrichau in Silesia. At first it was inhabited by priestly students and monks teaching at the Veszprém National School. Almost 100 years later, in November 1902, the house became the property of Endre Pósa, a prominent citizen of the city (bookseller and printer).
