If you plan to come here only for the Béla spring, you will probably be disappointed as it is rather underwhelming, there is usually barely any water dripping, and it is not drinking water. The spring is a reminiscence of moister times when there was a stream here that actually formed the spectacular rocks and boulders in the nearby Mária abyss (definitely worth a visit). Nowadays, the entire Vértes mountain has a rather dry climate, with only very few springs and streams. I do, however, definitely recommend visiting this area of the Vértes as it has breathtaking views and beautiful nature. I would also like to note that there has been major logging activity in its vicinity. Most of the surrounding forest has been completely removed probably owing to it being almost exclusively pine, but sadly, most recently the neighboring oak and beech forests have also been under imminent threat by the logging industry. On our last visit, we noted huge piles of timber, and significant forest removal along the paved road leading up to the nearby radio tower.

The forest is beautiful. There was little dripping water from the small spring. We didn’t have a water experience like this, but we had a great time in the woods.
