In the old building you can find the St. George vocational school. True, the building's facade on Lenhossék Street is impeccable, with the plaster on the Vendel Street side. The presently operating school was founded in 1988. It has full-time and evening classes, which are mainly specialized in adult education. Qualifications in the fields of Media, Communication, Information Technology are available as well as rare qualifications such as sound engineer, motion picture and animation maker and motion picture maker (adult education only). Practical training is one of the school's strengths. The school writes about itself: "St. George's High School for Media and Information Technology has always been renowned for its renowned instructors, its above-average preparation methods, its practice-oriented training system and its extremely broad educational, administrative, and corporate relationships." (source: szgyf.hu) The building itself was designed by Kálmán Albert Kőrössy (1869-1955), of whom I read: "One of the most talented Lechner students. In the 1910s, his art form moved toward pre-modern architecture with more geometric and symmetrical ornaments. a former elementary school on what is now Lenhossek Street. " (source: found houses: BME TDK). For me, the building exudes a strong massiveness, power, with ornamental elements that lend themselves to Art Nouveau. Engraved in stone above the main entrance is "BOYS" and above the other entrance of Lenhossék Street is "GIRLS", which indicates that girls and boys were initially educated in their original function.
