Very famous and historical building.
One of Debrecen's famous sights. You actually have to go down a few steps to enter the church - the town used to be on that level. Just like the great church, it has a unique history.
I would say this place is rather interesting than attractive, but visiting it was not a bad decision. We did not stay long though. You just enter the building, look around and try to find out whether it belongs to the Catholic or the Reformed Church. And you are wrong;)
It is very peaceful and reassuring to be enveloped in the silence of the beautiful, decoratively puritanical yet homely embracing interior of the church. One summer afternoon, I came here and sat down on one of his rustic benches to seek peace and tranquility with the message of “faith, hope, and love” as the blessed trinity of “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit”. I managed to find it in this place, even in the hustle and bustle of the bustling downtown. I wish everyone to find the peace and tranquility of their loving heart by coming here, resting here, meditating, and praying! ♡
Surely there will be some who wonder how a church can only be given three * instead of 5. I tell them I would have given five if I could admire from within. I was very surprised to find that all our doors were closed when we were here (Saturday noon). All the doors were closed in front of us in vain! We did not see any signboard, signboard, bulletin board or misrepresentation on either side of the exterior wall ... There is only a button on the doors, no handle on any of the doors ... We were just curious about this particular temple. Yeah, don't you go to church out of curiosity? Certainly not, at least not only if you're just hiking like we are today. I was curious because I had never arrived, not being in Debrecen - we live in a remote part of the country, and we rarely come here - to visit this temple. Then we wanted to get a little quiet after the long train ride. Yes, right here and in this temple. Unfortunately, it was not possible. We were sadly aware of this and continued on Piac Street towards the Great Church. I confess with the intent of being there! - Don't complain about Calvinist Rome! Because after the Catholic Church, so did the Reformed Church. Half once they refused entry - and they would have been open by 1pm (mandatory) ... Uncle wanted to give you a brochure instead of admission (ticket!). Thanks for rejecting, saying we didn't come ... Honestly, I am ashamed that in most places in our country - and as we have seen here in Debrecen - people find the church doors closed or show them for money "opening hours time ". Well, where did we go, please?
That is why I gave it here and there only 3 points. ... because I was trapped outside.
Come on, people! I shot well next to him! I wouldn't give myself an orphan * if I could, because this church is not Catholic! I just learned - here, from the reviews (!) - that it is a Reformed church. I'm ashamed of myself now for my high level of ignorance !!! My punishment is not for deleting my judgment - see what a believer I am. Next time I will think before I appreciate !!!
... but unfortunately, the point didn't change: the temple was CLOSED when we visited - and information is nowhere on the wall! I wish others, if they wanna go in, find it open! Sincerely.
