Visit if you want to get verbally assaulted I visited Szentendre for the first time and unfortunately, the owner of this gallery, Osiris OConnor gave me the worst welcome I've ever experienced. I stopped by the entrance of the gallery when I saw a postcard that resembled a painting I've seen in the art museum in Portland, and thought to send a photo of it to my boyfriend to ask if he thinks its the same artist we had seen in that museum. The owner approached me and told me that there is a promotional offer if I want three postcards and that I should buy them cause they cost only one euro. I thanked him for the information and then he grabbed the postcard from my hand and started shouting at me "You are stealing my property!" , "Its only one euro, why don't you buy it?", "Dont f* with me!", "You think you are smarter than me?", "Do you know what comes after a trillion?", "You dont know, you are not smarter than me!" "Dont f* with me". I tried to explain why I was about to take a photo of that postcard, but he kept interrupting me by shouting those phrases, so I said "Ok, thank you, bye" and left. While I was walking away he kept repeating these phrases in public in front of the crowd. I tried to be in his place and think of what kind of misunderstanding could have happened here, but this behavior is unacceptable. Maybe he just had a bad day, but he wasn't just rude or not nice, this is verbal assaulting. I totally agree that if the postcard was one of his paintings I shouldn't take a photo of it if he didn't want me to, but shouting at me these nonsense and insaulting phrases without first explaining is insane. I hope with this review the owners will take their actions more seriously in the future and won't repeat such behaviors. Maybe the artwork in this gallery is worth a lot, I would never support an artist who treats people like this.
