Despite the gloomy, rainy weather, we decided to go for a trip to Visegrád.🌦️🏰 We walked up to the citadel, and the pictures speak for themselves..🏞️ The view of the Danube bend was amazing, especially after the rain. We really felt ourselves among the clouds!☁️☁️☁️ It was a special experience listening the old ruins whispering their stories.

It is temporarily closed. Moreover, there is no bus except on July, August, and September thus who didn't ride car should think twice to go there. However, you can ask for city bus by asking the parking officer there, it costs you 3000huf for a whole city busz (car for 8 people). It's a good choice rather than walking down the hill again

Interesting exhibition and excellent views on the Danube and into the Börzsöny mountains on the other shore. The only drawback was the the rather unsympathetic lady at the ticket counter would not allow me to leave my heavy backpack at the entrance. As long-distance hiker I do not have a car or any place to put it. Visiting the castle would have been a lot nicer without the additional 20 kg on my back. Therefore: Nice castle - but not very hiker-friendly.

One of the most beautiful castle ruins in Hungary with an excellent view on the Danube bend. In the restored rooms of the castle we can read interesting historical information about the place and the importance of the castle. Paid parking and gift shops await visitors at the very foot of the castle. From here you can reach the castle gate and the inner castle in about 3 minutes on foot.
