Simply a wonderful, monumental building !!! The interior is stunning, holding one's breath. Unfortunately, the dome cannot be visited until after the renovation. The handover of the reconstruction is expected by 2024. There is also scaffolding inside. Due to the pandemic, however, internal routes have been developed so that it can be visited safely. I can only recommend it to everyone, it is a huge experience.

At the beginning of the 16th century Archbishop Tamás Bakócz built the Bakócz Chapel as a side chapel of the medieval St. Adalbert's Cathedral. In 1823 it was built by architect Packh János as a side chapel in the new cathedral. It is the only surviving Hungarian Renaissance building. The inside of the chapel is "red marble" (solid limestone), the dome of which is an ellipse of elongated shape, the white marble of the altar is Carrara or Lucca.
