I don't know what to add to the one in front of me. The entire surroundings of the church are tidy and cared for. It was open to surprise. 🙂

The name of the village of Szabolcs is first mentioned in the founding charter of the abbey founded in the nearby Szászdon around 1067, according to which three arable lands (about 360 acres) belong to the castle of Szabolcs. The values of the church near the earthen castle have not been recognized before. In 1944 he suffered severe injuries and was temporarily restored. In 1970-1972, during the excavating excavation of the Szabolcs land castle, the attention of archaeologist Péter Németh turned to him, since in 1092 the famous synod could be held here as well. The three-aisled, six-columned church found during the excavation may have been built in the 11th century, and was severely damaged during the 1841 earthquake. At that time it was rebuilt, the division of the three ships was also abolished. During the monumental restoration of the church, which was completed in 1978, the worthless additions were removed. The new roof structure reflects the proportions of the former interior, with bronze lamps symbolizing the ruined columns of the original three-nave layout. In front of the church, the bust of King László I (Saint) is reminiscent of the Synod of Szabolcs, which is a paraphrase of the reliquary herma preserved in the cathedral of Győr, the work of the sculptor Imre Varga. In the church-owned Reformed Visitor Center next door, you can ask for a guide every day of the week from 10:00 to 18:00 to explore the sights of the village and to arrange a bike or water tour.
