Originally a Greek Catholic in the village originally known as the Cross Road, it became a branch of Nyírpazony in 1751 because of the decline in the number of believers. At that time, there were only twenty adult Greek Catholic believers. By the beginning of the 19th century, the number of the faithful had grown significantly, with one hundred and seventy-five adult Greek Catholics being the priest of the Buji parish. According to the 1822 church attendance record, the church was built 19 years ago from adobe and its iconostasis is made of wood. Next to the church without a tower stood a crumbling wooden bell tower. During the century the number of the faithful continued to increase, and the community again became a branch of Nyírpazony, which was renounced in 1878. Their new temple was dedicated in 1894. It was restored in 1935 and consecrated again. In 1941 the gallery was expanded. The church was completely renovated in 2013-14 with a grant. Then a new altar was created, keeping the old canopy in line with the style of the church. In the altar are the relics of St. Clelia of Barbier (1847-1870).
