An article appeared in the August 9 issue of Hírlap that during the ongoing works, part of the small railway tracks around the former amusement park in the Ligetsor area came to the surface. I don’t remember the small railway around the amusement park, but I knew part of a much older rail system. In the early 1940s / around 1942-43 / the whole area was covered with a marshy, swampy surface with a small railway track dott. My father and I went there to pike because the 401-70 cm water cover provided a good habitat for bream and pike. The area had a "guard" who walked the area in rubber boots in a thick raincoat. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name because I was 5-6 years old at the time. He warned my Father not to step off the rails from the embankment because the swampy area is dangerous, submerged. I remember we never went home without a pike! The published publication reminded me of these pleasant memories - many years before the time the picture was taken! Tamás Kadácsi
