I have travelled to so many countries in the world by the grace of God. But I must confess, my experience during my visa application at the US embassy in Budapest was nice. Their officers are friendly and highly professional. If you are denied visa, it must be on good ground. No hatred, no disrespect from them but the officers at the Embassy are just too extremely nice and professional.

Bad costumer experience with the costumer service. The colleague was unfriendly, rude and impatient.

My overall experience at the Embassy of the U.S. in Budapest has been great so far. To briefly describe: professional and well-informed staff, quick service, and clean and organized external and internal areas. They are located in downtown Budapest, so parking might be a bit issue, and getting in and out takes a little bit of time (standard security check, but nothing more than what you'd expect at an airport). However, their employees are helpful and nice, and getting necessary paperwork done is rather an easy and straightforward process. The only negative thing I can say if that their phone service system felt a little bit of mess; a better organized menu, clearer choices and less levels would serve better.

Andrew Webster is a disgrace

Weird embassy, seems like the whole place is run by Hungarians with similar local bureaucracy. For example, you had to go back and forth between booths for document processing, then a cashier booth, then back to the original booth just to be handed receipts, where then a manager comes to the booth to explain the same thing twice. Only unpleasant if you’re in a rush, really inefficient. As a nice touch, the photo machine only accepted coins, no paper bills - but staff was able to give me change. Be aware that you need an appointment for all services (same goes for foreign and US citizens), which is a minus.
