Bástya Hotel

I do not recommend this hotel at all. Just to access your room you need to go upstairs through 24 steps divided into different stairs, and only then you'll find the lift. To access the car, you need to exit hotel facilities and walk for about 100m to reach the covered car park. Both guests and staff were not wearing face masks inside hotel facilities, and to reach the restaurant, it was also needed to walk for a while and go through several stairs. Moreover, I found a cockroach in my room the very first night. I definitely would never repeat nor recommend it to anyone.

Unfriendly receptionist. Poor breakfast. They didn't clean the rooms during 2 days until we had to discuss with them. Restaurant closes when they want, sometimes 20:00 or sometimes 21:30, you are lucky if it is opened when you want to have dinner. Some receptionists and waitress don't wear mask or they don't wear it correctly neither when they speak with you. ( I want to add: you can see their rude answer for my critic. They know exactly that they didn't make our rooms the 2 first days and also they can check their security cameras in the reception at 7:00 6/02/2021 to take a look how the receptionist didn't wear the mask when is talking to me during the check out.) There are 2 ways: accept the critics or lie and insult your customers.

Bad breakfast, there was leak at the ceiling, they did not clean the room the first 2 days, the workers were really rudes with us. And above of all, really expensive.

Pros: Excellent location, nice room with a good view, comfy bed, extraordinary wellness section (3 floors) with hot tub, inner pool, outer pool, saunas, salt room, gym. Well yes. This is how a wellness section should be. Staff is overall young age as of now, but always trying to be kind an helpful. Cons: Passive agressive text warning that you need to pay for everything (which is obvious without highlighting) which really sets the mood but in a wrong way. Not to talk about the moldy bottles (not operating withtout the room card so it gets hot then cold frequently, really disgusting) "consume only those thing you purchased at the hotel, if you do not agree you should leave the premises" "if you use the mini fridge in the room for anything else than the hotel filled products, you'll be charged with extra" etc. "make sure you are using one parking spot otherwise we will charge you the extra space" Not that i do not agree with most of this, but it is bit offensive for normal human beings. Vacuum cleaner and room maintenance should be improved. I really like peanuts but not under my bed. Exhaust fan in the shower clogged with dust. Disgusting... really takes about a minute of two to clean it during the daily maintenance. Breakfast is kind of 80s style, no proper ligthning in a windowless conference room. Mostly empty food containers, needed to ask staff to re-fill, eventhough there are usually 4-5 people serving for 10-12 guests. Extremely overpriced drinks. (szóda! 1L 700HUF, Heineken 0.5 can, 1150... for comparision, the same heineken at hungaroring is 1000, and you can buy it for 200HUF anywhere else... this price counts as robbery to me), give yourself a chance and go down to the nearby park and pay there for the nice sour cherry kriek beer at the "lángosos" for pennies. Overall it was an enjoyable experience for us with mixed feelings, might return someday.

Ok so we wasnt staying at the hotel but decided to eat in the restaurant. It was soooo over priced for what we had and the food was mediocre. My drink was deliverd to me with a fly floating around when asked to change my drink I was told I would have to buy another one or they could scoop it out with a spoon it. The waiter also brought an extra drink to the table what we didnt order and made it clear he would not take the drink back. we had to pay for and these drinks are not cheap they were around £6/€8 each for a soft drink. So for one soup, one main meal, one dessert and 4 drinks £60. I don't mind paying more for good food but this food was not worth a penny. Will not be coming back here unfortunately.
