Tihanyi Bencés Apátság

Very pretty with probably the best view of Balaton. Gorgeous shops all around. I didn't go inside because it was Sunday morning and there was a service. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

From the monastery only church with small museum is accessible, which did not impress me much, let's say a nice baroque church. But the crypt from the eleventh century with king tomb is amazing and monks crypt is very interesting. From the monastery there are beautiful views of the lake.

Interesting site. The Museum holds many interesting facts about Tihany, the abbey, Hungarian history and the life of the Benedict monks in general.

Amazing view from the top of the hill. Perfect place for admiring the lake and taking breathtaking pictures! The abbey is in the middle of a beautiful yard very well maintained. You can walk along the belvedere, you can sit on the bench or you can take a look at the telescopes located nearby.

An abbey of great history and prestige, old beauty and charm - a place you must visit when you are in Tihany.
